How your money moves

From deposit to
allocated position.

Four steps, the same for a $500 Skiff account or a nine-figure Flagship mandate. Nothing skipped, nothing rushed.

01

Fund your account

Wire or card deposit clears same business day; you can also transfer existing crypto directly into custody.

02

Pick a mandate

Choose a plan tier or let your portfolio contact recommend an allocation based on your risk profile.

03

Capital is deployed

Orders route across regulated venues at volume-weighted average price, then settle straight into cold custody.

04

Track and rebalance

The volatility-band engine rebalances automatically; you get a statement every month and a live dashboard always.

Inside the desk

Discipline is the whole product.

Most crypto losses aren't caused by bad assets — they're caused by bad process: keys stored in the wrong place, portfolios rebalanced on emotion, statements nobody reconciles. socioholdingassets exists to remove those failure points one at a time.

Every account is backed by the same operational stack our institutional clients rely on: geographically distributed cold storage, a rules-based rebalancing engine that ignores headlines, and a settlement pipeline that clears in hours rather than weeks. Nothing about it is exotic — it's the boring, auditable infrastructure that traditional asset managers have used for decades, applied to digital assets for the first time.

Clients on every tier, from a first Skiff deposit to a nine-figure Flagship mandate, sit on the same custody rails and the same audit trail. The only thing that changes as you move up is how much of the decision-making you hand over to us.

What "insured cold storage" actually covers

A plain-English walk-through of the Lloyd's-backed specie policy and the theft and key-loss scenarios it addresses.

Why socioholdingassets

Instruments for a
volatile sea.

Every allocation runs through the same checks a harbor pilot uses before clearing a vessel — verified, insured, logged. Six years and $2.4B in assets later, none of these six commitments have changed.

Cold custody, insured

96% of client assets sit in geographically distributed multi-sig cold storage, insured through a Lloyd's-backed policy.

Rules-based allocation

Portfolios rebalance against volatility bands rather than headlines, with every trade logged to an audit trail.

Same-day settlement

Deposits clear same business day; withdrawals route to your verified bank or wallet within hours, not weeks.

Transparent fees

One management fee, quoted up front. No spreads buried in execution, no surprise gas mark-ups.

Monthly statements

Custody proofs, realized gains, and cost-basis reporting formatted for your accountant, every month.

Human desk, always on

A named portfolio contact and a 24/6 trading desk — not a ticket queue — for anything above starter tier.

Secure server room with rows of illuminated data racks
Custody, in plain terms

96% of assets never touch a hot wallet.

Keys are generated in air-gapped hardware, split across multiple signers in different countries, and never reassembled in one place. No single employee — including the founders — can move client funds alone. Every withdrawal requires a quorum of signers plus a match against your pre-verified destination address.

The remaining balance sits in a hot wallet sized only to cover same-day withdrawal demand, itself covered under the same insurance policy. We publish the split — currently 96% cold, 4% hot — in every monthly statement, so it's never a mystery how your assets are actually held.

An independent auditor tests this setup once a year against SOC 2 criteria, and the report is available to any client who asks for it — not just institutional ones.

Risk, managed on purpose

Volatility bands, not vibes.

Every managed portfolio is boxed in by allocation bands set at onboarding — a maximum and minimum weight for each asset class. When a position drifts outside its band, the engine trims or adds automatically, on a schedule, without waiting for a human to notice.

That's the opposite of how most retail crypto portfolios behave: concentrated after a rally, panicked after a drawdown. The bands force the discipline that's hardest to hold onto in a 24-hour market — buying into weakness and trimming into strength, mechanically.

Clients can tighten or loosen their bands within the limits of their plan tier, but nobody can switch rebalancing off entirely — it's a feature we don't let anyone talk themselves out of.

Pricing is delayed and illustrative, for orientation only — not an offer or solicitation to trade.

Market note

Majors held a narrow range this week as funding rates cooled from last month's highs — typically a setup our rebalancing model treats as neutral rather than a signal.

Desk hours

Human desk staffed Mon–Sat, 06:00–22:00 CET. Automated execution and custody monitoring run continuously.

Order routing

Orders are split across regulated liquidity venues and filled at volume-weighted average price to reduce slippage.

How pricing works

No spread games, no gas surprises.

A lot of platforms make their real margin invisible — a wide bid/ask spread here, a marked-up gas fee there, a "network fee" that quietly pads the house's take. We don't do that. The management fee on your plan is the fee. Execution happens at volume-weighted average price across the venues we route to, and that fill price is what shows up on your statement.

If a trade routes through multiple venues to fill size without moving the market, you'll see that reflected as a single blended price, not a string of confusing partial fills. It's a small thing, but it's the difference between a portfolio you can audit yourself and one you have to take on faith.

Strategies

Three ways to be invested.

Every plan draws from the same three building blocks, just mixed in different proportions depending on your mandate.

Core majors

BTC and ETH form the ballast of every portfolio — deep liquidity, the longest track record, and the lowest relative volatility on the desk.

Growth allocation

A smaller sleeve in higher-beta Layer 1s and DeFi names, sized to add upside without dominating portfolio risk.

Stable reserve

A stablecoin buffer covers near-term withdrawal demand and gets deployed opportunistically during drawdowns.

Investor reviewing an investment portfolio growth chart on a tablet
Track record

Six years of cycles, not just one bull run.

socioholdingassets's models have now run through two full drawdowns and two recoveries. We publish drawdown and recovery figures alongside gains, because a portfolio that only looks good in a bull market isn't a portfolio — it's a bet.

Every plan tier's historical allocation drift, rebalance count, and realized volatility is available in your monthly statement, going back to the month you opened your account.

Plans

Pick the vessel that matches how you invest.

Every tier includes cold custody and insured storage. Higher tiers add active management, a named contact, and lower fees. There's no penalty for starting small — most Clipper clients today opened with a Skiff account.

How allocations work

Your money, in three buckets.

Whichever plan you choose, your deposit is split into the same three buckets used across the desk — core majors, a growth sleeve, and a stable reserve — weighted according to your tier and risk profile.

Skiff clients set their own split; Cutter and above hand the weighting to the volatility-band model, with a named contact available on Clipper and Flagship to adjust it as your goals change.

Average time to first allocation

Under four hours from a cleared deposit for Skiff and Cutter accounts; same day for Clipper.

Median account tenure

3.2 years across all tiers — most clients who join at Skiff eventually move up rather than leave.

Plan questions

Can I change plans later? +

Yes — upgrades apply immediately, and downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

Are management fees charged on idle cash? +

No. Fees accrue only on invested balances, calculated daily and billed monthly in arrears.

How is my crypto insured? +

Cold-storage balances are covered under a Lloyd's-backed specie policy against theft, loss of keys, and insider fraud.

What happens if I withdraw below the plan minimum? +

Your account automatically steps down to the highest plan your balance still qualifies for, with 30 days' notice first.

How long does onboarding take? +

Identity verification typically clears in under an hour. Once funded, Skiff and Cutter accounts are live the same day; Clipper and Flagship mandates go through a short suitability call first, usually scheduled within 48 hours.

Can I hold assets socioholdingassets doesn't actively manage? +

Yes. Any client can request custody-only holding for an asset outside the standard allocation set, though it won't be included in automated rebalancing.

About socioholdingassets

Built by people who lost money doing it the reckless way.

socioholdingassets started in 2019 after its founders — two former exchange-risk engineers and a maritime insurance underwriter — watched too many friends self-custody their way into six-figure losses.

We borrow our discipline from an older industry: shipping. Cargo doesn't move without a manifest, an insurer, and a charted course. We think capital shouldn't either.

Investment philosophy

Three ideas we won't compromise on.

Custody comes first

Return doesn't matter if the asset isn't safe. Every design decision starts from "how could this position be lost," not "how could it grow fastest."

Process beats prediction

Nobody on the team is paid to call the market. The volatility-band model exists specifically to remove that temptation from the process.

Boring is a feature

The best custody and reporting infrastructure is the kind you never have to think about. We measure ourselves on how little clients need to worry.

Global presence

Headquartered in Zug, working everywhere.

socioholdingassets is chartered in Malta, with custody infrastructure and signers distributed across five jurisdictions so no single regional event can halt operations or concentrate key risk.

Client-facing staff sit across Zug, London, and Singapore, which keeps the human trading desk reachable across most of a 24-hour market without asking one team to cover every timezone alone.

How we work

A small team, on purpose.

socioholdingassets is deliberately smaller than firms managing comparable assets. Every allocation decision above the rules-based model passes through the same five-person committee that's been in place since 2021, which means there's no diffusion of responsibility when something needs a judgment call.

Support works the same way. Above Skiff tier, you get a named contact who actually knows your account — not a rotating queue reading from a script. It's slower to scale than a chatbot-first support model, and we've kept it anyway.
